This past weekend I visited Vancouver for the first time. I flew into Seattle on Friday morning and drove up to Vancouver. I was a bit worried that we’d run into traffic crossing the border, but nope! It only took about 15 minutes so easy peasy lemon squeezy. After that, it was a smooth 2.5 hour drive to our AirBnb in Yaletown. Here’s a recap of my short but fun weekend in Vancouver:
Capilano Suspension Bridge
This is a must-see in Vancouver. I went first thing on a Saturday morning and didn’t run into any crowds. After you purchase your tickets, the bridge is just a short walk.
Dog Sledding in Whistler
This was the highlight of my trip!! I’ve always had this love for huskies since I watched Disney’s Balto so when I actually got to experience dog-sledding, I felt like it was a dream come true. 🙂
I made a reservation with Canadian Wilderness Adventures on a Saturday for a two-hour dog sledding adventure. It’s about $300 USD for two people. Note: You’re only dog sledding for an hour and the other hour is for travel time going to/back from the village. I thought the hour was a good amount of time to go dog sledding, including playtime with the dogs. The staff here are amazing and really want you to enjoy your time with the dogs. If you’re ever in Vancouver, I highly suggest driving to Whistler for a dog sledding adventure. The two-hour drive up to Whistler is absolutely beautiful!
