Hi! While I do love a matcha latte from my favorite cafe, I do love saving some money as well. I used to think making matcha latte must require a lot of skills because whenever I ordered one, it was so delicious. I thought, “Is it even possible to make this at home?” I’m here to tell you, it sure is possible and trust me, it’s simple and easy.
Below is everything you need to know to start making matcha lattes at home (and to save some money).
My matcha latte recipe:
-
1 tsp teaspoon (or more depending on your needs)
-
8 oz oat milk (any kind of milk works. I personally like oat milk vs. almond milk because it is creamier.)
-
honey for sweetness *optional
Instructions:
-
Pour milk of your choice into frother.
-
Add 1 tsp of matcha powder into the frother. Note: This is my hack to save money and time. Saving money because you don’t need to buy a matcha whisk to mix the matcha powder. Saving time because you are saving 1-2 extra dishes haha.
-
Add honey to cup
-
Pour matcha latte in cup. Stir until honey is combined.
-
Enjoy!
Notes:
-
Depending on your milk frother, make sure you do not exceed the max line otherwise you will have a big mess later.
-
I enjoy my matcha lattes hot, but this recipe works for iced as well.
-
If you want a larger size drink, add more milk. If it’s too watered down and you want more matcha flavor, adjust matcha powder accordingly.
I hope this helps you create matcha lattes at home! If you try this or have any tips and tricks, let me know in the comments below.
