Do you exfoliate? If you do, are you in love with your exfoliator? My experience with exfoliators have been just okay because I didn’t get results or it was too harsh on my skin. Exfoliators promise the removal of dead skin cells while brightening the skin and all that good stuff. I haven’t met an exfoliator I liked until I tried out Dr. G’s Brightening Peeling Gel. This product is a new addition to my routine and it’s definitely here to stay!

I was looking for a physical exfoliator suitable for my sensitive skin. My skin felt like it was stripped of moisture and really taut after exfoliating. Some exfoliators are scrubs that contain microbeads to help remove dead skin cells. These microbeads and scrubs are actually too harsh on my skin so it just never worked out for me. However, this peeling gel worked wonders on my skin.

The Promise
This physical exfoliator promises to gently and visibly (!!!) remove dead surface skin cells to brighten skin and reduce the appearance of pores. It contains Vitamin C and E to brighten skin and even skin tone. Cellulose gently and visibly removes dead skin cells while ingredients such as willow, honey, aloe and althaea rose extract provide moisture to the skin. There’s a lot of good stuff packed into this peeling gel!

The Process
After thoroughly cleansing my skin, I used about a penny-sized amount of product while avoiding the eye and lip area. Using my fingers, I massaged the product onto my skin in circular motions. After a minute or two, I could see and feel dead skin cells forming!! There were literally balls of dead skin forming because it sloughed off the dead skin. After, I rinsed my face and looked in the mirror and wow! My skin was glowing. *Cues Rihanna’s Shine Bright Like A Diamond* I was super impressed by this because it really delivers.  After exfoliating, I’ll follow up with the rest of my skincare routine.

The Price
$28 at Soko Glam, $28 at Glow Recipe

The Packaging
Pretty standard packaging. I’ve seen cuter Korean beauty packaging so this one doesn’t stand out but it’s not bad either. The bottle has a snap closure so you won’t lose the cap. I purchased mine at Glow Recipe and love that it comes with a smaller size to travel with.

The Results
My skin was brighter, softer, smoother and hydrated. I love that I can actually see the dead skin cells sloughing off my skin. Not only do I know the product works, but I can see the results after I rinse my face. I instantly saw brighter and smoother looking skin. My skin has been looking absolutely amazing the past few weeks. I’m 99% sure it’s because I am exfoliating with this product once a week.

Dead skin cells!

The Bottom Line
I’m so happy I discovered this product. It’s seriously a game changer and no wonder it’s a best selling product in Korea. The product is mild but highly effective. I let my mom and fiancé try this out and they both love it. My fiancé has acne and oily skin and he’s noticed a huge improvement just from using this exfoliator. Highly recommend this product!
